This notice explains what personal data DEQIO collects through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have. We keep it short and plain.
Who we are
DEQIO (“we”, “us”) provides independent ecommerce leadership and consultancy to businesses in the UK. We are the controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us about anything in it through our contact form.
What we collect
When you use our contact form: your name, work email, company, phone number (if you give it), what prompted your enquiry and your message.
When you request the Replatform Decision Checklist: your first name, work email, company, role (if you give it), the platform you use, and whether you would like occasional emails from us.
When you browse the site: basic technical information our hosting provider records for security and performance, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. If you accept analytics cookies, we also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. See our cookie notice.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
■ Replying to your enquiry and arranging a call: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract.
■ Sending you the checklist: our legitimate interest in providing the resource you asked for.
■ Occasional emails about replatform decisions: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying “unsubscribe” or using the link in any email.
■ Keeping the website secure and working: our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable website.
■ Understanding how the site is used (Google Analytics): your consent, given through our cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time using the cookie settings button on the site.
How long we keep it
■ Enquiries that don’t lead to work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
■ Client records: for the length of the engagement and up to six years afterwards, to meet legal and accounting obligations.
■ Checklist sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details, and we review the list at least once a year.
■ Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security purposes.
Who we share it with
We never sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this website and our email, under contracts that require them to protect it. These include our website and email hosting provider (Hostinger) and, if you accept analytics cookies, Google (Google Analytics). If a provider processes data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time.
To use any of these rights, contact us through our contact form. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
